ABOUT KATRIN

Most leaders aren't short on capability.
What they're navigating is something else.

The gap between how they see themselves and how they actually land. The difference between performing leadership and practising it. That is the work I do.

nous (n.) the kind of intelligence that comes from within. Practical. Grounded. Hard to fake.

THIS IS NOT FOR YOU IF

– You are looking for a quick fix or a set of techniques to apply

– You want to be told what to do rather than discover what is true for you

– You are not ready to look inward — the outer work is enough for now

– You want polish, presentation skills or personal branding

– You want someone to validate what you already think

THIS IS FOR YOU IF

– You are already performing well and something still feels off

– You are at a transition point and want to navigate it well

– You want to understand how you actually land, not just how you feel

– You operate in high-stakes environments and want to lead from a more grounded place

– You are geeky, quirky or neurodivergent and have never quite found your people in leadership development

– You want someone who already understands your world without explanation

THE BACKGROUND

I spent 15 years in finance and hedge funds before I understood what leadership actually costs.

I was in fundraising, investor relations and business development. I sat in those rooms. I understood the pressure, the stakes and what it costs to keep performing when what you actually need is to think differently about how you show up.

When a client talks about a difficult investor conversation, a board they can't get traction with, or a team that isn't responding the way they expect, nothing needs explaining to me. I already know the world they're operating in. That credibility is at the heart of how I work.

WHY NOUS

The name has a story.
And so does the work.

I fell in love with Greece the first time I visited. Something about the light, the pace, the way people there seem to have an easier relationship with depth. That love was reinforced over the years by Greek friendships that accompanied me through my first years in the UK — people who brought warmth, philosophy and an instinct for the things that actually matter into my everyday life. Greece became part of how I see the world, not just a place I admire from a distance.

And the philosophers were always there in the background. Aristotle, Plato, the Stoics. The idea that how we think, how we know ourselves, how we act from the inside out, determines the quality of everything we do. Long before neuroscience gave us the language for it, they were describing the same truth. The examined life is not a soft idea. It is a practical one.

Nous in Greek philosophy is the highest form of mind. Not clever thinking or sharp strategy, but the deep intelligence that comes from genuine self-knowledge. In British English it simply means common sense, the practical wisdom that cuts through. I chose it because it holds both things at once. Ancient and grounded. Intellectual and utterly practical.

THE LONGER JOURNEY

I had a few bumpy years as a young woman.
They turned out to be the most important ones.

Life doesn't always go the way you plan, and for a while mine didn't. What I didn't know then was that growing through those years would become the foundation of everything I now do with others.

What those years taught me is something I now see in almost every leader I work with. When you are grounded in yourself, when your confidence comes from the inside out rather than from external validation, everything changes. Not just how you feel. How you lead. How you land. How others experience you.

I share this not because the story is the point. It isn't. But the lessons are. Every insight I bring to a client, every moment I recognise what is actually happening beneath the surface of a leadership challenge, comes from somewhere real. That is what drives this work. Not the past, but what it made possible.

THE WORK

This is inside-out work.
Not polish. Not performance.

I coach senior leaders, executives, founders and leadership teams at critical inflection points. New roles. Bigger stages. Scaling businesses. The moment when competence alone stops being enough.

I combine neuroscience with rigorous, human coaching and a business background that means I can work at pace with people who don't have time for slow starts.

The kind of shift I'm interested in is the kind that actually sticks. Not a reframe. Not a framework on a wall. A real change in how you lead, how you land and how you sustain it.

BEYOND THE WORK

I was born in Germany and lived in three different countries before settling in the UK with my husband, two boys and our bunnies in West Sussex. I met my husband on a plane. Together we have travelled around the world.

I love languages. I am passionate about the outdoors. I cycle, swim whenever I can and am a qualified swim teacher and meditation teacher. Meditation is part of my daily routine and has been for years.

My core values are freedom, courage, curiosity and kindness. They are my compass in life and in work. I believe deeply that change is not something to fear. It is where growth begins.

is a conversation.

If what you need isn't neatly listed anywhere, let's talk. A conversation costs nothing.
